Set near a hiking area in Culver City, Paige Turner-Uribe’s Transitory Lights (2024) depicts her two daughters looking out at the city lights. Viewing the mid-Wilshire area skyscrapers and streetlights glow against the Hollywood hills. Though the stars are not visible, the city lights instead flicker and affect the way forms dissolve and change in nightfall. The blanketed city lights below the blue evening sky evokes a twilight scene familiar to many in the city.
