To the Chateau I’ll Never Go (2023) features the Chateau Marmont Hotel, as seen from an overlooking Hollywood Hills neighborhood street. Turner-Uribe recalls walking down a nearby hill while the sun was setting and thinking that the building against the colorful sky looked like a fake backdrop of a Disneyland castle. Known for its often-celebrated celebrity guests, the Chateau feels unapproachable, but Turner-Uribe delights in the dichotomy between the worn down streets and constant construction of Los Angeles–acknowledged here with the trash bins and yellow porta potty–alongside its glamorous tone. “The light makes everything,” Turner-Uribe comments.
