Borrowing their outfits from SAFE SPACE (TEAL) (2023), Moreno comments that the figures in REST AS RESISTANCE (2023) “are collaged friends in a state of rest to symbolize the importance of recharging.” Lounging, being comfortable around one another, and cool blue and green pastels give the sculpture a feeling of calm, while fashionable outfits and bold makeup give the figures the vibe of being a superhero on a rest day.
