Enlightenment is like the moon reflected on the water. The moon does not get wet, nor is the water broken. Although its light is wide and great, the moon is reflected even in a puddle an inch wide. The whole moon and the entire sky are reflected in dewdrops on the grass, or even in one drop of water.

Ochi Gallery and Emily Friedman Fine Art are pleased to present Water and Light featuring works by Peter Alexander, Charles Arnoldi, Larry Bell, Ron Cooper, Gisela Colon, Mary Corse, Tony DeLap, Laddie John Dill, Sam Francis, Helen Pashgian, Ruth Pastine, Ed Ruscha, Pat Steir and Norman Zammitt. The exhibition is on view from July 7th through September 8th and is open by appointment.
Water and Light presents works by American artists who have explored the possibilities of process, content and medium to convey the ephemeral qualities of water and light. Optically charged to suggest the perceptual effects of atmosphere, or infused with energy to mimic the dynamism of a crashing wave, each work exhibited strives to capture a sensual translation of the elements.
