body on the tracks (2024) was painted as b chehayeb recalled memories of hearing about a train suicide in Abilene, Texas. With peachy pinks and sandy tans, the desert landscape is broken up by black and white marks that evoke railroad track or stitches. death and spirituality were always big themes in west texas which was the bible belt, at one point abilene texas was in the world records as having the most churches on every corner, i thought of death and dying and god a lot because of the spiritual environment. —b chehayeb
