b chehayeb’s coyote (2020) was painted after reflecting on memories of visiting Six Flags Over Texas, an amusement park in Arlington, Texas. …wile e. coyote was a looney tunes character and part of the six flags franchise and six flags was a huge part of texas summer, rollercoasters and the burning sun. he was familiar. a lot of the rides were associated with him, there was a lot of merch too. he was always trying to catch the roadrunner and it was always failing and backfiring on him in disastrous ways so it made sense for rides with volcanic booms to feature his story/character. —b chehayeb
