b chehayeb’s painting NRH20 (2024) was named for NRH2O Family Water Park, the first municipal water park in Texas which opened in 1995. chehayeb’s family used to visit the park in the summertime, with many rides and slides with names like the Riggamaroll, Purple Palooza, and Accelerator. memory about working up the courage to go down the giant waterslide at a texas waterpark, the sound of yelling down the tube… the texas summers are blue in sky but red in heat —b chehayeb
