I love going to artists’ studios because there is always something to look at. Even when they are between bodies of work and the room is full of blank canvases, as was the case with Alison Van Pelt when we visited her yesterday. About to begin a series of paintings (the content of which I shall not reveal here) that she will show with us early next year, it was nice just to catch up with Alison and watch her french bulldogs play.
